OK is it wrong that I believe my own cat is jealous of me? You ask how and why eh? Well let me be frank and say that I believe it's all my girls fault. Dakota and my girl have this unique relationship and he is extremely spoiled. I somehow lost my position as being number one in my own house. I use to be kissed first, but now it's "my boy, my boy" kisses all over and over the shoulder the "oh hi honey". Yeah and right now you're saying to yourself who's jealous of whom. Me, jealous of a cat....come now...what do you take me for?
Do you find it odd that my cat actually gives me dirty looks when I spoon my love? Yes, that's what I said! When I put my arm around her, he will literally look at me and flash me a dirty look. There are times when he will sneer at me while sliding his paw around her neck and put his face up against hers....they are cheek to cheek. I swear, you think I'm kidding. This is no joke, I can not make something like this up. When he slides the paw around her neck, he shoots me the "screw you" look. Recently we were cuddling on the couch and he came over and attempted to lay right between us then he looked up at me and grinned when she pulled him near her.
Now it's almost comical that I am claiming Sandra as MINE with my own cat! How absurd right? I make darn sure when he comes near that he's aware I was here long before him. My sweet doesn't even realize sometimes what is going on. She doesn't have the slightest clue that I stuck my tongue out at "the boy" last night and pulled her closer to me. She has no clue that he put his paw on my face and pushed me back when I had my face up against hers. She has no idea that I nudged him over and over until he was off the bed. She has no idea that he flips his tail in my face so that I'll roll over and he can have her all to himself. Literally it has become a competition in the night.
The first time it happened I gasped & thought oh no it's my own crazy imagination that he is jealous of me. However, one night I realized he IS when I saw him actually flip me off! Go ahead laugh if you must, but I warn you this too can happen to you.....
